Barack Obama... the next President?

Last night, Barack Obama gave his speech for the democratic convention... in this speech he said...
"I have A belief that we are connected as one people. If there's a child on the south side of Chicago who can't read, that matters to me, even if it's not my child. If there's a senior citizen somewhere who can't pay for her prescription and has to choose between medicine and the rent, that makes my life poorer, even if it's not my grandmother. If there's an Arab American family being rounded up without benefit of an attorne
y or due process, that threatens my civil liberties. It's that fundamental belief — I am my brother's keeper, I am my sister's keeper — that makes this country work. It's what allows us to pursue our individual dreams, yet still come together as a single American family."
If Barack is really his brothers keeper, and really cares so much about helping people out, then WHY does he refuse to help his own blood brother? his brother lives in a hut, on less than a dollar a month!!! Barack Obama is a millionair and REFUSES to help his brother out in any way... when he said..
" I believe we can provide jobs to the jobless, homes to the homeless, and reclaim young people in cities across America from violence and despair. I believe that as we stand on the crossroads of history, we can make the right choices, and meet the challenges that face us. America! "
it made me sick.. "we can make the right choices"....??? he is not making the right choices by standing up and lying to the public by saying he cares so much about helping people out, giving them food and shelter, when in all reality he really doesn't care, because he will not even help his own blood brother."

For someone who is a Roman Catholic, his understanding of the Bible is lacking. He does not appear to me to be a Christian who understands God's message.
"We still don't abide by that basic precept of Matthew — whatever you do to the least of my brothers, you do to me,"
I think Obama needs to think before he speaks...
To top it all of, Barack Obama, who is potentially the next president ended his speech with...
"Thank you and God bless you."

If you were running for president wouldn't you at least end your speech with a God Bless America?

It's fairly presumptuous to assume that Barack Obama "refuses" to help out his estranged half brother. Maybe he has and it was refused. The following excerpt quotes George Obama saying that he wants to achieve things for himself and doesn't want people to know he's related to Barack.

'He will not be calling on his famous brother for help, however.

"We have only met twice, once when I was five or six, and again in 2006," he said. " I cannot say that we are close, he probably does not even think about me. I am not going to start pestering him, I don't want to look to him for help, I want to achieve things for myself.

"I don't even tell people that I am related to Barack Obama, I don't want people here to be harassing me because they think I have money or influence. I have nothing like that, I am a person who likes to live quietly.'

I won't comment on the bible quote as I am not familiar with it...although in my experience the bible can be interpreted many ways.

And lastly, if you're so concerned with him being "not" being a proper Christian and a man "not" concerned with helping everyone why would you criticize him for "not" limiting his "God bless you all" comment just to America?

I like Brian's points. But I'm all for Barack Obama, and you knew that. Its true, they've only met twice. You don't know everything about the candidate's personal lives and you really shouldn't be judging. I mean, I really do NOT like stinky old man Mccain or his VP runningmate, Palin. But we don't know everything and we all have our own opinions.

I also wanted to come here and tag you for this survey tag thing going around the blogs, you can come check out my blog and get the info to copy and paste if you wanna do it. I emailed you on facebook too about it. :) I'm glad you got a BLOG!!!

oh! and I also wanted to say that when he says "God bless you" I think he is speaking to not just America, but the world. You should also do some more research on my friend, Obama, because he was a community organizer and really supported and helped out his communities in South Chicago.
